POOVAR Trip!

2018 Summer Vacation
1. Booked tickets from B'lore to Thiruvananthapuram -- Sleeper coach bus - KPN Travels
2. Bus journey was good -- Note: Preferably book upper berth and in the middle section of the bus
3. Started around 8 pm and reached around 9 am at Thiruvananthapuram -- Note: There is no dinner break during night journey.. hence have your dinner before you start your journey or you can pack some food to have it in bus
4. Got off from bus at Thiruvananthapuram and took Auto Rickshaw to reach Poovar Island -- It's 1 hour journey
5. Reached Poovar Club Mahindra (it was a Sunday) and after a quick shower, headed towards the restaurant for lunch
6. Whole day was spent well within Club Mahindra.. kids were glued to FUN ZONE and the elders were busy eating and playing cards (BREY Game)
7. Next day it was time for boat ride in the backwaters.. spent some good 2 hrs in the boat and also had a nice lunch in the floating restaurant (Saravana Bhavan veg meal -- as it was Monday)
8. Evening time was spent in FUN ZONE and had some delicious food.
9. Next day (Tuesday) was the check out day.. checked out by 12 noon and Club Mahindra gave us another nice room for the remainder of the day (as our bus was at night 8 pm.). Today again we took a boat ride to sea beach.. spent some good time in sea beach.. kids went for horse ride in the beach.
10. Club Mahindra arranged an Innova for us to reach Thiruvananthapuram and from there we boarded the bus for our journey back to Bangalore. Thank You!

Rameswaram Trip - Har Har Mahadev! Trip Date: Nov 5th and 6th 2022 Distance from Bangalore: 611 km Time taken by road: 11 hrs Road: NH 44 and NH 87 - Road condition - Excellent Rameswaram is a town on Pamban Island, in the southeast Indian state of Tamil Nadu. It’s known for Shri Ramanathaswamy Temple, a Hindu pilgrimage site with ornate corridors, huge sculpted pillars and sacred water tanks. Devotees bathe in the waters of Agni Theertham, off the beach east of the temple.  Lord Ram and Maa Sita had consecrated the Jyotirling at Rameswaram after killing Ravan while returning back from Lanka. 22 Kund Snanam or Theerth Snanam: 22 Kund Snanam starts with Samudra Snanam at Agni Theertham . It is believed that the first kund/theertham lies submerged under the sea and hence the snanam ritual starts from taking a dip at  Agni Theertham .
