"Jai Jawan, Jai Kissan, Jai Bigyan"..

"Jai Jawan, Jai Kissan"... we have grown up with this slogan.. The slogan was coined by our late prime minister Mr. Lal Bahadur Shastri and it is very close to our heart..
"Jai Jawan, Jai Kissan, Jai Bigyan".. this is the new slogan pharased by our former prime minister Mr. A. B Vajpayee... with addition of the phrase "Jai Bigyan", this is the era to give respect to our scientists as well (in addition to our Jawans and our Kissans) ...
Now a days, noone can deny the power of technology.. Because of science and technology, now the world has become flat...

Since we are discussing about technology, let me take this opportunity to write something about Windows 7.. yes, the new operating system from Microsoft..

After a horrible experience with Windows Vista (because of its slowness and heavy memory consumption), now the whole world is waiting for Windows 7's arrival... We may see Windows 7 in market by early 2010.
But why the name Windows 7?? Because Vista was Windows 6.. and Xp was Windows 5 and NT was Windows 4... Please don't ask me the Windows 3, 2 and 1... (I don't remember)..
I'm not sure whether Windows 7 is the official name or they will give one more name to Windows 7. Most likely they will go with Windows 7 only..

With Windows 7, we'll experience the touchscreen capability that will allow users to select folders and control programmes without using a mouse. Like iPhone, we can zoom in or zoom out a photo with our finger tip..(touchscreen). This is the most amazing feature of Windows 7 from an end user perspective.. Also Windows 7 will be faster and need less memory to run. Vista generally needs costlier hardware configurations than the older Windows XP.
If you'll compare Windows Vista and Windows 7 then from look and feel point of view, you'll find hardly any difference...
Realistically, Windows 7 shapes up to be one giant patch for Windows Vista..

Microsoft is also going to launch the web version of MS Office very soon.. This will be really helpful to many users... and also keep an eye on Microsoft's arrival to cell phone world.. Microsoft will be launching its 1st cell phone to market in the near future..
So, we are going to hear a lot of technology stuff in the coming days...

All these news keep me reminding of the very famous slogan... "Jai Jawan, Jai Kissan, Jai Bigyan"... very rightly said...

Thanks,
Srimaya Rath

But will Windows 7 be anything lesser !! well speculation and buzz says it will be ... microsoft is a company which not known to roll back products .. so it needs to be seen whether Win 7 does really need lesser sys config. MS has already started to roll out Beta versions of win 7 which is scheduled for a relase in late 2009.For the inquisitive ones you can get a copy here :

UHAULing.... in US...

In this blog let me share my experience of shifting home in America... You have to do the following activities for shifting your home... 1) Buy the card board boxes and pack your stuffs on your own... 2) Rent a truck to shift your stuff from one place to other and you have to drive that truck on your own. That truck is provided by a company called UHAUL. 3) Place all your stuffs inside the truck on your own. So, you have to carry your sofa, bed etc on your own. Therefore, you have to be a body builder to do all these activities. Remember, here there is no human labour to help you out. If you are hiring human labour then be ready to pay a hefty amount. 4) OK... All the stuffs are now packed and placed inside the truck. Now drive the truck on your own. 5) Reach the destination. 6) Unload all the stuffs.... Again on your own... 7) Return the truck to UHAUL (company) and pay the rental... 8) Your shifting is done... Cool..... That's how you have to live in USA. So, life is very easy he

Chase your passion...

Do you have some passion that you always wanted to do since your childhood??? Yes, I know we all have.. but we don't dare to chase it.. Because in India, we think only doctors and engineers are well respected in the society.. Hence, at any cost we have to become either a doctor or an engineer... Therefore, if you want to become a sports person or a singer or a dancer or a writer etc.. it's not allowed.. So, you sacrifice your area of interest and succumb to the pressure from society and put all your effort to become what your society want you to become.. Ok.. Now you have lived all most half of your life.. and somewhat successful (in career) by seeing your current stature..Your half of the life has gone by... in fulfilling other's wishes and their dreams.. Suddenly you realize that you have never lived for yourself.. I think this is the best time to invest on yourself... to chase your own passion.. to do something that you always wanted to do... I know we all are living a r

A way to give back...

Giving back to the society??? This sentence sounds a bit odd.. Yes, because we always believe in taking from the society... and we have taken it for granted that we'll always take from the society... Since our arrival to this beautiful world, we have taken almost everything from the society... It may be good education, good job or a safe and healthy society... and we assume that building a good society is the responsibility of Govt... Yes, you are right.. however, our country is a developing country.. not a developed country... Govt is doing its work at its pace... and since our country is one of the most populous country in the world, a lot of unprivileged people are there in the society.. unfortunately they are deprived from everything... they also don't get their basic school education... That's why the role of privileged people become very vital... Under current scenario, all the privileged people should raise their hand to support the unprivileged people.. We may argue
