Kanha Trip -- Tiger Reserve!

KANHA TRIP! -- Thish' version

The entire household of the Rath’s across India were in an excited buzz. Why you ask?? Because the awaited trip to Kanha would start soon….
The ladies were running around the house , picking up knick-knacks on their way to dump into the suitcases….
The men of the house were busy going through the tickets, calling the trip advisor and occasionally, asking for a cup of tea or coffee…
But, the busiest were the children who were constantly packing and removing items from their backpacks..Namely, books in my case and stuffed animals in Sara’s case...
Oh!! It seemed as if the day would never come…
But, at last the day dawned bright and clear, The light beams of the morning sun touching my face and waking me up from my peaceful sleep…
I got ready immediately, grabbed my bag and off I went ..Saying goodbye to studies for an entire week

Me and my parents got ready for the security check at the airport.
After all the necessary checks were done , we still had a couple of minutes left ..
We slept in a peaceful slumber through out the flight and woke up just in time for landing at Bengaluru.. We stayed the first night in Bangalore.
Dadei and our family were ready for the flight to Nagpur the next day..
All of us got up at three in the morning, did a quick brush, and sat in the taxi for the airport. We were ready for our flight in about forty five minutes….
When we reached Nagpur, the city of oranges , the time was sharp eight o clock..
Pisa and pisinani’s flight was due in thirty minutes, so we sat at the airport seats and waited for their flight to arrive.
Pisa and pisinani were greeted with hugs and namaskars…

Unfortunately, Kaku could not get a flight at eight so the earliest flight they had was due at nine o clock.
So, the rest of us who had united went for a breakfast at a restaurant and as we were afraid of running late, we packed some toast, uttapam, Upma , and idlis for Kaku , kaki, Ved and baba… Kaku, Kaki, Baba and Ved did arrive soon after.

By nine thirty all of us were ready to experience one of the most exciting family holidays ever…
We all grabbed a seat each and made sure they were comfortable, as they would be the seats with which we would be sitting in for the next six hours and thirty minutes to be precise.
The tempo traveller was very comfortable and the driver uncle was very co-oporative.
Though the ride was very long papa came up with the cool idea of dancing inside the bus, and this made the six hours pass away In a blur…

We reached Club Mahindra Kanha, CMK at around seven o clock in the evening, after checking into our rooms and luxury suite or tent, as u might call it.
We were too tired from our long journey, that we were not in a situation to have any more fun..
We immediately went to the dining hall and enjoyed the scrumptious dinner
Though every one else enjoyed the trip or togetherness of the family, honestly speaking, I enjoyed the dinner buffets the most;)

The next day we went into the swimming pool(Of course It was only me ,Sara and dadei in the pool)(Sadly we don’t have many adventurous people with us, right???)
We thought that the already freeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzziiiiiinnnggg cold water would be ok after a few minutes,But NO!!!still ffffffrrrreeezzziiinnngg….
Post the swim, Sara and me spent a lot of time in the fun zone and made super cool friends whom we will never forget..Karun, Arun, Kadir, Pooja , Laxmi, Samsudin and Shivnarayan uncle
The adults also spent a lot of time playing brey outside, in the lawn…

In the evening, we enjoyed a cool safari in two Maruti open jypsies..The guide tried his level best to show us the tigers but was in vain..
At the end, we had to be satisfied with seeing only  a black buck, lovely peacocks and a cute rabbit hopped past us..
At night there was a sudden change of plan. The elders thought of biking on a Hilly terrain, the next morning.
But not everyone was in for it…
It was only kaki, dad and Pisa
When they came we heard amazing stories of that biking experience

After a day of biking for adults came the turn of Sara and me
Well of course not outside the resort but inside club Mahendra
We biked around the entire resort and had fun..
We also had tribal dance at night…

Oh I also forgot one main thing
It was fun when the adults showcased their talent at football
Pisinani was the best…..

After the first tiger spotting safari went in vain , this time ,we were determined to make the most of this tiger safari
Though there was one tiny problem. This time the Safari started at 6:30 in the morning
We were wrapped in blankets but were still shivering with cold.
Though again this time we still could not see the Tigers

Next day Pisa and pisinani left .
Dadei, Us and Kaku’s family stayed for another day and left for Mumbai where we stayed for another two days with Veda as our host.

Next day we left for Bhubaneswar in the morning while dadei went in the afternoon
It was a lovely trip and I want to go to Kanha very soon again..

KANHA Trip! -- Denny's version

  • Kanha trip was planned long ago and finally we started the trip on Jan 7th, 2018
  • We 4 families (Butu Bhaina family, Denny family, Sony family and Monny family) were able to make it.. total we were 9 adults and 3 kids.. Baba being the eldest and Vedant the youngest J
  • Took flight from Bangalore to Nagpur – It was a morning flight.. reached Nagpur by 8 am
  • Younger brother and brother in law reached Nagpur from Mumbai and Delhi – they all reached by 10 am
  • Had a good breakfast in a nearby hotel and then started for Kanha
  • Tempo Traveler (TT) was arranged to take us from Nagpur to Kanha – it’s around 6 hrs drive
  • TT journey was good.. had a great family fun time inside TT with lots of songs and dance
  • Reached Kanha Club Mahindra at around 7 pm after checking into the rooms headed for dinner --  we had booked 2 rooms and 1 tent room (luxury room)
  • Next day morning (Jan 8th) after a delicious breakfast, kids went to explore the FUN ZONE and they loved it!.. all grown-ups played cards game (BREY) in the lawn
  • It was chilling cold in Kanha and the swimming pool was freeeeeezzzzinggg!! We went inside the pool thinking that water would be normal after some time but NOOOO.. it was super cold..
  • In the evening we went for the Safari drive.. had booked 2 Maruti Gypsy Jeep.. it’s dense jungle and well maintained.. our guide tried his best to show us TIGERS.. but sorry, no LUCK this time.. Can’t forget the loud SNEEZE from Sony J on our way back from the jungle.. by hearing Sony’s sneeze, the other travelers thought it was the roar of TIGER.. Hilarious!!!
  • During our stay in Club Mahindra, we had lots of fun with Ved.. he engaged us fully and must say  did multiple times revision of his book (A for.. B for.. and so on..). During morning time with lots of energy Sony, Butu Bhaina, Nani and Saga went for Cycling to the near by places.. however, it was very tiring for Sony and they were resting.. after some time the roar of a tiger was heard.. villagers advised to leave the place immediately.. Sony replied.. can't move an inch.. let the tiger come and eat :) fortunately they all reached at Club Mahindra safely. In the evening enjoyed tribal dance and did camp fire..
  • Undeterred by our 1st failure to spot tiger.. after a day break, we went for our 2nd Safari ride.. this time it was in morning time. We started by 6 am.. covered with 2 layers of blankets but still it was super cold.. after more than 2 hrs of ride, unfortunately we were unable to spot the Tigers (No Muna.. No Titu -- Tiger's name) though this time the guide put lots of effort to show us the tiger.
  • Trisha and Sara spent some quality time in FUN ZONE.. they learnt Glass painting, did cycling.. pottery and what not..
  • The grown-ups showed their skill in SOCCER and Badminton.. Nani was exceptional!!
  • Nani and Bhaina left Club Mahindra on 10th and they headed towards New Delhi
  • Rest of the family spent 1 more extra day in Kanha and finally checked out on Jan 11th.. Again, we used the same Tempo Traveler to travel back to Nagpur.
  • From Nagpur, we went to Mumbai.. had some circus in Mumbai airport as someone else had taken our luggage.
  • Spent some 2 days in Mumbai and rested well in Monny’s new home.. then finally on 14th Sony n Co left for Bhubaneswar and Denny n Co left for Bangalore.. Thank You!!!

UHAULing.... in US...

In this blog let me share my experience of shifting home in America... You have to do the following activities for shifting your home... 1) Buy the card board boxes and pack your stuffs on your own... 2) Rent a truck to shift your stuff from one place to other and you have to drive that truck on your own. That truck is provided by a company called UHAUL. 3) Place all your stuffs inside the truck on your own. So, you have to carry your sofa, bed etc on your own. Therefore, you have to be a body builder to do all these activities. Remember, here there is no human labour to help you out. If you are hiring human labour then be ready to pay a hefty amount. 4) OK... All the stuffs are now packed and placed inside the truck. Now drive the truck on your own. 5) Reach the destination. 6) Unload all the stuffs.... Again on your own... 7) Return the truck to UHAUL (company) and pay the rental... 8) Your shifting is done... Cool..... That's how you have to live in USA. So, life is very easy he

Chase your passion...

Do you have some passion that you always wanted to do since your childhood??? Yes, I know we all have.. but we don't dare to chase it.. Because in India, we think only doctors and engineers are well respected in the society.. Hence, at any cost we have to become either a doctor or an engineer... Therefore, if you want to become a sports person or a singer or a dancer or a writer etc.. it's not allowed.. So, you sacrifice your area of interest and succumb to the pressure from society and put all your effort to become what your society want you to become.. Ok.. Now you have lived all most half of your life.. and somewhat successful (in career) by seeing your current stature..Your half of the life has gone by... in fulfilling other's wishes and their dreams.. Suddenly you realize that you have never lived for yourself.. I think this is the best time to invest on yourself... to chase your own passion.. to do something that you always wanted to do... I know we all are living a r

A way to give back...

Giving back to the society??? This sentence sounds a bit odd.. Yes, because we always believe in taking from the society... and we have taken it for granted that we'll always take from the society... Since our arrival to this beautiful world, we have taken almost everything from the society... It may be good education, good job or a safe and healthy society... and we assume that building a good society is the responsibility of Govt... Yes, you are right.. however, our country is a developing country.. not a developed country... Govt is doing its work at its pace... and since our country is one of the most populous country in the world, a lot of unprivileged people are there in the society.. unfortunately they are deprived from everything... they also don't get their basic school education... That's why the role of privileged people become very vital... Under current scenario, all the privileged people should raise their hand to support the unprivileged people.. We may argue
